Hello, and welcome to Piano World!
That is a nice looking Yamaha console piano, with the decorative, Queen Anne style artcase cabinet. Those models were popular back in the 1960s.
Not sure what kind of info you are looking for, but maybe some of the experts here will chime in.
Have you played it? All the keys work? Do you plan to keep it or sell it?
Good luck!

High probability that the action will need it's spring cords replaced. Tuning pin torque MAY be an issue. In the end you would need a tech to personally inspect it.
There is always a reason a piano is "free", or unwanted.

1968 is correct.

We were planning to sell it, and were looking for any information on the piano. Thank you for your input!

Definitely an M series. Wonderful pianos. Norah Jones has one like that in her home. Probably not worth much to sell but definitely worth investing to freshen it up and learn to play. Maybe you’d get a couple hundred dollars for it.

Unfortunately I have been trying to learn the guitar and learning the piano will be for another day. We were wondering what a fair price would be to offer it for, so thank you for sharing you knowledge

Hi Steve, what do you think would be a fair price to offer the piano for? My search under the description of what you provided did not yield many results.

Hi Steve, what do you think would be a fair price to offer the piano for? My search under the description of what you provided did not yield many results. I'm not Steve, but here's a 1969 model in what appears to be excellent condition being offered by a dealer for $1,995. I've seen others offered for slightly more, but who knows how long they've been for sale. https://www.alamomusic.com/yamaha-m2f-console-piano-42-dark-walnut/Depending on it's condition I'm guessing you might be able to get $800 to $1,800 for yours through a private sale- but condition is everything. Certainly looks fine on the outside, but the innards are what really count.

I have come across Yamaha M1A (regular casing) from late 60s priced between free and around $2000. As a private seller, I would list it between $600-$1200 depending on the condition and how quickly it needs to be sold. It’s unrealistic to expect the dealer price as most dealers include free delivery and tuning in addition to preliminary prep work, all of which are typically not a part of private sales.

In my limited experience items left in a house after sale are worth what you pay for them. I hope in your case this doesn't apply.
My father knew someone who bought a condemned cinema for a token price because it had to be demolished. He found a Hamburg Steinway D under the stage. Apparently that sweetened the deal somewhat. The owners had forgotten about it!
