I dislike Noire. Compared to other CFX (Garritan, VSL), it is quite muffled.

@EB5AGV. I guess Pianoworld would be boring if we all agree on which is the best virtual piano (and the worse).

I thought so too initially, and it is definitely a more rounded warm tone than I'm used to.

After setting the correct velocity curve, and tweaking tone just a little bit I'm quite happy with it. Early days, I've only had an hour or so to play.

It's very quiet on startup, which is an annoyance. Much quieter than my other vsts.

Well, finally I couldn't resist and got the VSL Vienna Imperial along the Synchron Bosendorfer Imperial for a mere 305€ wink (using 4*100€ vouchers, sold for 300€, and adding 5€)

I finished installing them on my new SanDisk 2TB SSD yesterday late at night... First impressions are very good. And they are perfectly useable on my i5 fourth generation with 16GB RAM and now 3.5TB all-SSD PC. I increased voices to 256 on VI and CPU was just about 15% or so at maximum... Not bad for an old (but optimized!) PC thumb

My family thinks I'm kinda nuts, but I splurged on a "cable management box" to tidy up a spot that nobody can see:

After:

Everything stuffed into the box:

My wife says the box is a complete analogue for middle management. Can't say I disagree smile

I like that, Gombessa, good idea!

I splurged & got Sennheiser 599SE headphones at half off regular price. They're replacing cheap, 15 yr old Panasonics ( no model number, even) that my sons left behind when they moved out years ago. Guess what -- the Sennheiser phones don't sound any better, just louder! But they're comfy, & the foam doesn't flake off on the keys like the Panasonics were doing.

At least it answers the question, if anyone wonders: is there an impedence issue with these Sennheisers & a Korg C1 Air? No.

I splurged, bit the bullet, shot the wad, and went all in ... and I bought a house.
We moved in on Sunday. We'll spend ... oh ... about a year unpacking everything.
Moving sux. frown

BTW ... did I mention it before? I AM RETIRED! smile

Congrats Mac, it's been a long time coming, and well deserved! Also probably one of the few things 2020 has failed to screw up. Enjoy the retirement!
