Hi all, I haven't hung out here quite as much recently and I miss all the regulars ( and not-so-regulars that make discussions here interesting!). Anyway, at one of my stores we have a marquis on the street that we traditionally put out when we have a special event happening. Well, I ordered a sign for this week's holiday (that I can re-use for other holidays because I am cheap) and this thought occurred to me. The signs are cheap enough that I could easily order a dozen or more, switch them out every couple of days, and always have a sign with something upbeat, friendly, witty, or just fun sitting on the highway. Here is the sign I currently have out: ![[Linked Image]](http://forum.pianoworld.com//gallery/42/full/13946.jpg) So PW friends - can you help me with some witty or fun sign ideas? This actually might become something that people actually start looking to seeing as they pass by our building. Thank you in advance for taking the trouble to respond. I know there will be some fun suggestions and I look forward to reading what some of my favorite piano people come up with.

Oh,
I think this would be more interesting if there is an incentive. Let's put some entries up for a couple of days, then choose a winner. I am happy to send the winner a special gift as a prize.

Hi Rich Fun contest! Just a thought: can ‘Cunningham Piano Company’ be in larger font? Maybe just change it to ‘Cunningham pianos’ for the purpose of this sign?

Looking at advertisements across cultural barriers is fun.
Something like this would definitely not work in Austria, no matter the font size.

Oh my gosh, these are all great! I don’t know if I have anything to add... I’ll keep thinking though...
(I would, however, recommend against the “black and white keys matter” even though I think the intent behind it is fun and harmless, you just wouldn’t want someone to take it the wrong way)

I can't think of any clever-er lines than those above, but maybe amp it up a little graphically, more than just words. Piano keys down the side, or maybe the curve of a grand. Something with a bit more pizzazz!

There's no such thing as bad publicity.
In Chesterfield there was, and probably still is, a very good fish and chip shop. Now in UK generally a fish and chip shop serves as an advert for the next fish and chip shop down the road. People see it when driving past, think "That would be a good idea" so stop at the next one. So the owner got a couple of signs that said "Fish and chips 100 yards". The owner told me that they had had to step up production to keep up with the increased demand.
Currently working towards "Twinkle twinkle little star"

Though I have lived in the US for almost one year, as I come from a different cultural environment, probably I would have no good suggestions for a comercial sign over there. But one thing I know: many people has never had the live experience of hearing the sound of a real acoustic piano, upright or grand. So whatever says the sign, if it enhances the will of coming into the shop and trying the pianos there, this might be a very good starting point for a successful chance of sales. Promote the experience of playing a piano first, and you might be favourably surprised. Just my 0,02.
