Hi Liddough. That's the best CAD price I've seen for the P515. I haven't seen anything on sale online either. I've been watching for this one and Kawai ES920 but have not found any Canadian deals.

Hello. So there is a wonderful music store in Ontario I believe, called CosmoMusic. During Black Friday they offer a 15% discount on anything on regular price I believe. Long and Maquade will match it, online or in store.

It’s 10% now, till Monday. I guess it’s not bad with Long and Maquades 1 year extended warranty they have.

Regarding retail stores ... it should be noted that few Black Friday deals are really special.

10% off. 15% off. 20% off. On expensive merchandise you can generally get discounts of that size (and more) on any day.
You just have to get the attention of the salesman and make the offer.

That ethos rings true for independent retailers but you’d be hard pushed to be successful trying that at a larger chain-type retailer. I’m not sure about the US so I could be talking rubbish, but the best you could hope for here in the UK is price matching.

Used Yamaha N3 from a reputable piano/music store near me for £6k. Was already considering it at £7k, but when they knocked an extra thousand off for Black Friday I decided to just go for it. Always wary of 2nd hand digital stuff, but this comes with 12 month warranty so I’m fairly comfortable with it.

If a retailer can offer 20% off as a special ... Black Friday or any other occasion ... then why can he not accept your 20% off offer on any other day?

More last-minute shopping: I have got another SanDisk 2TB SSD for my secondary studio PC... Once you get used to SSD anything on HDD is painfully slow. I had already the OS on SSD on that PC, but most of the data was still on a HDD

I think that is a good deal, especially from a good retailer with 1-year warranty. More-so given that the used market for AvantGrands suddenly dried up this autumn.

They absolutely could... They sadly don't and the threat of purchasing elsewhere doesn't hold much weight, perhaps a free stool or headphones etc. The dangers of large retailers and chains I guess.

VILabs has good deals on their piano library; 30% off. These are very nice sounding pianos that don’t take up too much space or require too much processing power. A nice middle ground IMO. The Ravenscroft and Modern U are particularly outstanding as far as playability is concerned and have unique sonic textures.

I bought 2 books for self-education:
- Acoustics of small rooms;
- Acoustic Absorbers and Diffusers.

Also:
- bought upgrade components for my older son's PC;
- borrowed a friend's truck, bought 2 cu. yards of organic mulch, a lot of top soil, and spent 2 days with my wife planting bushes and trees on our backyard. Busy Thanksgiving, but she is happy, so what else do I need?

Got myself this one, EZKeyz Upright Piano.

https://www.emusic.se/product/53565/toontrack-ezkeys-upright-piano

Don't expect much from it, soundwise. cool Actually, I didn't buy it because of the sound appealing to me. I bought it because of the songwriting tool. It seems pretty cool, and that even rhymes!

It usually sells for about €120, but I got it for 329 Swedish kronor, at the current exchange rate something like €30. I've been waiting for a discount of EZKeys but it hardly ever happens. Don't understand why not.

Not sure if anyone can get it outside Sweden, maybe at least if you live in an EU country (European Union). For €30 it's probably worth it. If you want it, you'll have to hurry! There's only roughly one day left for this offer.

I'm downloading and setting up right now, and will let you know how I feel about this library, when I've had the change to play around with it. Until then, you can check out the video below.

I upgraded my subscription to PianoWithJonny from quarterly to annual. It's 50% off and the rate is locked in and doesn't go up. For $180 a year I thought it was a pretty good deal.

I love it! Even more than I love Galaxy Vintage D, which is saying a lot.
