A fragment of the concert as part of the Musica Integral festival held on 03/10/2020 in St. Petersburg in the "Sevkabel" space. An orchestra of young musicians from different cities of our country performed well-known classical music works. The musicians were directed by the young conductor Ivan Khudyakov-Vedenyapin. Together with young talents, the Honored Artist of Russia Ekaterina Mechetina performed at grand piano "Mikhail Glinka M-208". We offer you a preview of a fragment with her participation.

E. Grieg, Piano Concerto in A minor, 1 movement.
Conductor Ivan Khudyakov-Vedenyapin.

My Russian is pretty rusty, so Google Translate helped a bit with this page: https://mihailglinka.ru/. Click on the "РОЯЛЬ" (Royal) link at the top. Apparently this piano is based on a W. Hoffman Professional P206, which is made by Bechstein in the Czech Republic.

Maximillyan - I liked the piano well enough to wish to hear it better recorded. It is really difficult to tell just how good it is because of all the noise on the recording and the quality of the microphone(s) used to capture the sound.

That said, what I DID hear had a lot to recommend it. There was plenty of clean and powerful bass, the upper treble sparkled, and the middle 8ves sang clearly. I like the sound of the Bechstein 208cm, so this could be a very nice instrument.

Do you know how this piano compares with the w. Hoffman Professional P206?

hi, Seeker
Ekaterina Mechetina is Honored Artist of Russia. She really very nice played E. Grieg, Piano Concerto in A minor, 1 movement there. But quality of sound it's grand piano is not good for my ears, sorry. I'm not feeling deep long sustain and the volume all sound of piano would been can more. In melodic lines is pits there. A basses would been much more there if it's piano would been has point sharp and massive sound more. Keys weakly conductering for Ekaterina. She tried made many things connecting and to show during her playing but it was not clearity. May be your right and it's when wrote: "It is really difficult to tell just how good it is because of all the noise on the recording and the quality of the microphone(s) used to capture the sound."
Sorry I no know as need compares w. Hoffman Professional P206 with it's grand,
regards,
