Is there a way to get my paid copy of Ivory II ACD onto my new laptop which doesn't have a CD/DVD drive? I've been looking around online, and it seems not very obvious to me how it's done. I do have another PC with a drive, I didn't know if it could be transferred across to my laptop that way? I'm not sure how I'd do that though as I didn't think you could just move an install over from one pc to another simply using an sd card or something as its installed onto the pc rather than a file you can simply drag and drop if that makes sense?
I looked on ivory help and was shocked to find little support or help on this. I'm sure I read somewhere on their site that they charge you a fee to be able to get it on a usb stick or whatever so you can install onto pc's without disc drives... Which I'm not paying as that's not ok with me having already paid full price for the software. It annoys me they couldn't have the install on a data stick like garritan, much easier.
Thank you

Buy a portable cd drive, maybe? They're only $25 to $30 here in the States.

If both PC's are on the same network, then maybe you can run the installation from the laptop even if they reside in the CD-drive of the other PC. Other than that, the portable CD drive mentioned by No Expectations seems a flexible (and quite future-proof) idea.

This is it ... Buy a portable cd drive, maybe? They're only $25 to $30 here in the States. Laptops have become too thin to bear a CD/DVD/Blueray drive. And those disk media are becoming obsolete. So the add-on drive is the common option these days.

Beware with the installation from old DVDs... I run the installation from original DVDs for Synthogy Ivory II Grands and it run smoothly until I restarted the PC. It generated a lovely blue screen and took me some hours to get back my computer to starting up condition. YMMV, but be careful!

I think if you have the original product code, there's an option to request the download version. Was it for free or with a price I forgot, but I think I came across it before.

Well guess what... Exact same thing has happened to me now... Trying to fix my laptop now.. I can't believe i dont listen to peoples advice enough If I'd have to guess, it could be because Synthogy has updated their engine probably numerous times since the first release of the ACD. When did it come out, and which operating system was the ruling OP then? Windows 7, maybe even Windows XP? No wonder it crashes on modern computers. Besides you probably want to enjoy the latest updates of the Synthogy engine, of which the biggest improvement was removing the need for a USB dongle, in my opinion.
