https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/224251694397
Bought one of these off eBay a couple of weeks back and it works great. Set the fader to CC1 to control dynamics instead of a mod wheel. I got one with four rotary knobs that are freely assignable.
I realise quite a few people wish to VPC1 had a mod wheel. Some folks like myself use it for controlling strings libraries too. (Yes I know it’s a piano controller).
It’s USB so plugs into a slot on your computer. Set inputs in your DAW to receive ‘All Midi Inputs’ and away you go. It’s obviously a DIY Arduino build but does the job. It’s not motorised but neither is a mod wheel.

One similar with two sliders would be perfect for strings and other orchestral libraries

The seller is offering a few different options. As I mentioned, I bought one with a single slider and four rotary knobs. They also do one with eight rotary knobs. So if you spoke to the seller maybe they would build you one with two sliders.

Once you get one slider working, you will want more. And then buttons. And then an expression pedal. There are many MIDI controllers available with or without keyboards.

For example on my CP-4 the seven-band EQ sliders are the most used controls other than master volume.

Can't understand why more controllers aren't available with wheels. . .

I know. If someone could manufacture a midi pitch and mod wheel in a tidy aluminium enclosure with a small footprint they’d be laughing.
