Hello, I would like to purchase a piano for my kid. I have two options Schimmel Model C123T and Bechstein A124. They are competitive in terms of price. Bechstein is the better brand based on my research. However, my friend who is a piano instructor, suggested me to go with Schimmel because according to her, the quality of Bechstein had been decreasing over these years. The quality of the Bechstein pianos is random. The tone might change over years.
Please let me know what you think. Thank you.

Are these two pianos new or used?

I have tried a CBECHSTEIN A124 on two occasions and thought it a very good instrument. Obviously not as good as the higher model 124 which costs a good deal more (if we are talking of new pianos). I have not heard anything about the quality of CBECHSTEIN instruments diminishing in recent years. The Schimmel C123T is I would think on the same level as a Bechstein Academy. (I am not sure) I have only played a C120 Schimmel a while back. The tone of the Schimmel was very good , action smooth. The same goes for the CBECHSTEIN A124 .I did prefer the Bechstein, but perhaps because it was a taller piano , so bigger soundboard , longer strings therefore better sound .

I would have confidence in either, and imagine they're fairly comparable. Just pick based on touch, tone, appearance, price.

you really can't go wrong with either piano.
With that being said if it is their first piano, Yamaha or Kawai have much cheaper also good options.
