It would be helping if you posted some example of the strange noises, so that others could give an honest opinion. There are so many factors that could change our sound perception. For example, 2 different headphones could make you think you are playing 2 different instruments. And personally I hear different sounds when I play the same DP with the same headphones but in different moments of the day (morning, afternoon, evening, etc.).

I think it is tinnitis. Many years ago when it first started with me I was utterly convinced that the sound I was hearing was coming from outside my home and spent many hours trying to track it down. And yes, very difficult to not focus on it but if you keep trying you will -eventually - not notice it.

I think there are always going to be few of us who hear things that we don’t particularly like... see my post from last year:
http://forum.pianoworld.com/ubbthre...-else-has-noticed-the-f5-key-lx-705.html

Whilst digital instruments are fabulous for their intended purpose; recording (or modelling) a piano... then playing that through a set of speakers... without artefacts/quirks of any kind is a big ask!

Learning to play. Consciously incompetent, which apparently is a good starting point. smirk
