By browsing PianoMart, I saw this listing: Steinway Model FI have no intention of buying it, but a couple of things piqued my curiosity. First of all is the "Model F", which I have no knowledge about. Secondly, the fallboard tag does not look like anything I have seen, although by no means am I an expert. A quick Google image search of "Steinway Model F" did generate quite a few entries, but far fewer in terms of that particular tag. My question is: are these for real?

It's a little difficult to see, but it looks like the top of the piano by the pinblock does have one of those Steinway "Hexagrip Pinblock/Accelerated Action" stickers. Whether their uprights had that exact sticker or not, but it does look very similar to that sticker on Steinway grands.

It is a 40" vertical piano. I am fond of them. I think they are nice for their size. It differs from the model 40 by the shape of the bass bridge, I recall.

It was made in 1967. There were a couple of 40" models: F-40 and F-100, which varied only slightly.

BDB,
I am continually amazed at your encyclopedic knowledge of these things.

There is a book, but I lent it to a customer before the pandemic and have not retrieved it, so I am relying on memory and other things, like the stringing charts.
