Keith linked the video because his company was the rebuilder.

The Guarneri and the Steinway™ both sound great!
Excellent werk on the Steinway™, Keith! thumb

I don’t mind a side decal if it’s tasteful, but I suppose that “tasteful” is open to interpretation.

Our Boesendorfer 225 is also called a "Halbkonzert" model. At 7'4" it is designed for both a larger home and a smaller concert hall. We have seen many in concert halls which hold several hundred people It has the Boesendorfer decal on the side, but much smaller than the ones in the full concert models, like the 290 or now retired 275. Looking on the web, it looks like the 200 has a decal, but smaller models don't. Correct me if I am wrong.

Our Steinway C&A unit has a massive silver three-digit number on the top of the front part of the lid (before the hinge). Luckily you only see it when the front part of the lid is closed (not often).

That's the concert instrument inventory number. Mine had that as well. Some how it was removed by a previous owner, but if the light hits the satin finish just right it's pretty noticeable. And one can see it I point it out. The CB# (for concert model B) is still embossed in the horn of the plate and on the bottom of the music desk. I don't know if they still put the concert number on the lids or not. It seems like a smaller number in a more discrete location would accomplish the same thing.

This is offensively large:

Billy would normally play a Challen. If he was on anything else the name would be blanked out.

My Brodmann PE187 has it's logo displayed fairly largely on the side of the piano, which I purchased from Piano Craft as they were moving from their previous location. I find it quite handsome.

Rich Galassini can confirm this if my memory is not quite accurate on the question.

Well I think it looks perfectly fine. wink

I also like the original soundboard decal (which is Patrick J. Cunningham's signature from early 20th C.)

OTOH, I wish that serious piano recordings included information regarding the piano make and model.

BTW, there’s always black gaffer tape.

That's always been a pet peeve of mine, when you consider how much other information is given about the recording: the venue, the engineer, the recording equipment used, the playback equipment used in the studio, the artist who designed the cover, the photographer, etc., etc., but most frequently nothing about the piano.

Oh, there was always the rare exception, but rare it was when the make and (sometimes) model of the piano was credited.

Regards,

BruceD

I would need rosewood gaffer tape but I don't think that is available.
