I know I'm a day early, but I've been working on my own arrangement of Saint-Saรซns' Danse Macabre for a couple of months now. It's for 2 Sopranos, Orchestra, and Choir. Enjoy! ๐ŸŽƒ๐ŸŽƒ๐ŸŽƒ๐ŸŽƒ

Many people have heard the symphonic poem, but fewer know that it was originally an art song that Saint-Saรซns composed to the poem written by Henri Cazalis. I decided to combine the orchestral version with the art song, make it a duet, and add a choir.

This is just fantastic! And we get to see the stars at the end! It must have taken you hours and hours to do this...

It did! There's a lot to learn about all the recording and software involved, and on top of that getting the singing just right. But it was a lot of fun smile

Thank you Morodine. I really enjoyed this. More interestingly, when I began playing it, my wife came rushing in from another room because she recognized the music, but had never heard lyrics with it.

This is wonderful! I confess I didn't watch the images because I was dancing around the room, watched by my (almost-)black cat! These are beautiful voices and it is a very exciting arrangement.
Brava, brava, bravi!

I loved it!! Are you the first soprano we heard? Regardless, the voices were wonderful. This was so much fun! Thanks smile

Isn't that cool? I had heard the symphonic poem first before the art song as well, so when I discovered the song that got me thinking laugh

Morodine nice work. Want software DAW and VSTi's did you use. What about the microphones and audio interface for the vocals?

All these years playing and I still consider myself a novice.

Sorry I didn't respond earlier, we are in the process of moving (oh joy). I used Logic Pro X for my DAW, the woodwinds and brass and percussion are all EastWest Hollywood orchestra, and solo violin is Emberton's Joshua Bell Elements, and harp is just a harp in Logic's own library. Strings are Cinematic Studio Strings. For mics we had two AKG C414's - one 5 feet away and one 15 feet for a little more roominess than my living room has lol. Interface is Focusrite Scarlett 2i2.

Serge88, cmb13, and Terry Michael - thank you for listening and glad you enjoyed it! We're going to be releasing new recordings each week - although not all will be on this scale of production wink
