P515 seems to be a safe and satisfying replace.

If you love the CP4, why replace it at all? What is it that you feelis missing?

I do believe the choice is between the technology of the future : Modeling, or the technology of the present/past : Sampling. Many people will tell you that at present there is no way to identify a difference, and that it is purely a matter of personal taste, and so it may be. Yamaha and Kawai have been slower than Roland to switch to modeling, since with sampling they can promote recording their own top of the range acoustics, including Bosendorfer that Yamaha owns. But I am ready to make a bet (and I could lose) that within the next ten years, modeling will take over.

So yes, go for the RD-2000, or less expensively, the FP 90. Same action, same modeling (only for piano sounds, others are sampled).

The main issue about sampling is the size of memory samples. Too few digital pianos have unlooped samples. But some have. Then it is matter of time before the generalisation of this feature (in high end DP). The technology is already there !!
These samples can be completed by some modelisation (Yamaha’s VRM for resonance)

The main issue about modelling is probably the cleverness of the engineer developing the algorithm. This can take some time... perhaps tomorrow, one of them will have a Flash of genius and Pianoteq will make a quantum leap... perhaps not.
