This is your 30 day warning! Will you play something special for recital #60? If you are new to the recitals, here is a quick rundown: - you can play anything, from any style or period, as long as it is piano related (or keyboard). - but only one submission per performer in the quarterly recitals - the recital will open for submissions on Nov 1st at about 6AM US eastern time - the recital will close for submissions on Nov 15th at about 6AM US Eastern time. - at that time the recital will go "live" and we can listen to the performances. - the recital will be presented in the order that performances were submitted. If you resubmit your recording, you drop to the bottom of the list. We use the recital submission page at recitals.pianoworld.comLooking forward to it! Sam

I hope to make it! We move next weekend, and we will be without a piano for a bit of time until the new one arrives.

Good luck with your move, bSharp!
So, I am hoping to submit something new, I'm working on it right now, so am not sure if it will be ready or not. But it's special to me because it's something I would not have been able to play way back in 2006 when I submitted something to recital #1.
If this piece isn't ready, I think I will submit something I recorded in April of this year (but haven't shared with PW yet). That piece would be special because it's the piece that I submitted to recital #3.
Sam, I seem to remember there was a discussion here a while back about recital recordings that don't show up in the current version of the recital index (when you click on the music link, it shows up as not found). What was the conclusion, that those are just lost forever?

Sam, I seem to remember there was a discussion here a while back about recital recordings that don't show up in the current version of the recital index (when you click on the music link, it shows up as not found). What was the conclusion, that those are just lost forever? I have every mp3 ever submitted to the recitals. Sometimes the links in the database are in error. But I made html5 players for every recital. goto the index: ABF Recital IndexClick on <Browse by Recital> Pick the recital that you want. On the right side there is a link to the html5 player. You should be able to listen to any performance. Let me know if there are any problems. Sam

Sam, I checked and all the later ones are fine, but the first three recitals on my page have broken links. Here's the page: http://recitals.pianoworld.com/reportRecitalsbyPerformer.php?name=ShiroKuroThe links that are broken are for recitals #1, #3, and#6. If that is fixable, that would be awesome!

If you go directly to the player for recital 1, you'll be able to hear your piece there. Below is the link. http://recitals.pianoworld.com/recital_files/ABFPlayer81.php#19 is Where Time Goes, but it doesn't show the player's name. Very nice!

Oh thank you!!!! That sure brings back memories!! Also, I played it better than I remembered! I need to see if I can find the score (it’s not in my big dropbox folder of PDFs that I now keep with backups of anything I play or any scores I want to make sure I don’t lose.)
Anyway thank you for finding that, listening to it made my evening!!

Only about 1 week until the recital opens for submissions!
You may submit your performance beginning at about 6AM US Eastern time Nov 1st at recitals.pianoworld.com The recital will close to submissions at about 6AM US Eastern time Nov 15th and go "live" shortly after.

I always come back to PW forum for the recital ! Me too! I might poke around here and there but I always remember when the quarterly is happening. But I don't really know what I will record this time. I did record something a couple weeks ago that I think is good enough to submit. That might have to be the one since I can't seem to get any practice in lately.

Gyaaa! The piece I want to submit is still.... bumpy? choppy? some other word that ends in -y? We'll see, there's a little more time...

Woohoo, I have a recording ready! Makes a pleasant change for me to have something I'm happy with before the recital opens.

Looks like I'm in with Bach. This will be my 59th or 60th recital? I feel so old. For my 20th I played the aria from Bach's Goldberg Variations. I thought I would take up the suggestion we revisit a piece we played in the past so I pulled out the music once again and recorded it. No chore since I still love it and have periodically played it over the years (one of the few pieces from my past I can still remember how to play).

I'll miss participating but I've decided not to do so until I play a piece a little more "qualtiy".

I’m going for ‘perform something you wanted to submit but never could before’.
(Although I still can't do it justice ... )

Well, on second thought , it's not like voting (eEEek) ...if i can get a piece practiced in 14 d ... I'll be there. To Marie: If "you" means "me" ... that'd be Claire de Lune... I'd love to hear it!

Come on piano_primo, you can do it!
And no, it's not Claire de Lune - if only. I'm finally giving 'Gymnopedie No. 1' an airing; I don't understand why I find it so much more difficult than No. 2 and No. 3.
