Hi,

I'm going to buy my first digital piano (I'm a beginner), and i would like to have your feedback on two digital pianos.
- Yamaha CLP-745 (2690e) (I try the 735 (1990e) in store but I prefer the feeling of the Keyboard of the 745, it seems to have a heavier feeling)
- Kawai CA-49 (2090e)

About the song, both Yamaha and Kawai are good for me.
About the keyboard, I have a good feeling on both keyboards but I only play a couple of minutes on both pianos, so I didn't really feel the difference between the two keyboards.

The price of CLP-745 is 600e higher...
It is the CLP-735 which seems to be in the same range of price than the CA-49.

So I don't know if this difference of 600e is justified ? If the clp-745 is a better piano ?
What about the robustness of these two keyboards ?

Which one do you advise me to buy ?

Thank you for your answers !

I would say that the CA49 has a worse sound engine compared to the clp 745. Have you looked at the CA 59?

If the sound of the CA49 isn't bothering you then don't bother spending more. The best piano is the one you like the most.

No unfortunately, the CA59 was not in stock.
The store can order it, but it 500e more expensive.

Do you think, these 500e are justified ?

To answer this question you need to determine what differs between the two pianos ...

Does one feel better than the other?
Does one sound better than the other?
Those are my main criteria. Perhaps you have others.

The CA59 on the usual european online stores is € 2599, while the Yamaha CLP-745 is € 2777. They are very similar (and very nice) products, but with different feeling in the action and in the sound. Only you can decide.

Depends. The key action should be the same. You'd probably hear the difference in the built-in speakers. Less likely in the sound engine though it isn't the same - probably difference in sample lengths, maybe audible using quality headphones. And the CA49 is relatively stripped-down in features, check feature comparison if you'd miss something. The cheaper CN39 has more "features" but different key action and a "weaker engine", still isn't a bad DP at all.

The 745 key action is actually 10% lighter (better) than the 735.

If you can afford it, try the Kawai CA79 to compare.
