I work on classical pieces. Will the Korg D1 work for intense, demanding exercises (eg chopin etudes)? On the other hand, there is a 20-year Kawai ca550 and a 30-year Kawai p360 for the price of the new Korg D1. What do you think i should do. Right now I have a Studiologic SL88 Studio with fatar tp100lr keybed.

The Kawai CA550 was released in 1997.
The Kawai P360 was released in 1998.
I have a five-year limit. So I would never consider either one of those.

Both are old tech. Very very old.
And both are past their useful life ... potential money-pits for repair and maintenance.

ludolf2938, I'm probably one of the biggest Kawai fanboys on this forum, however I would be hard pressed to recommend buying a ~20 year old digital piano.

However, by all means give the a try...if the action is in good condition, I guess these instruments could theoretically be used a MIDI controller for a VI.

Kind regards,
James

Yes. that was my main purpose anyway. I thought of using it with a good virtual piano library. But especially the kawai p360 is a 30-year-old machine. I could not find any information about her polyphony. I don't like the plastic feel. It does not give confidence. It feels like the tp100lr isn't solid for classical music. For this reason, I thought of buying an affordable product, even with an awa mechanism.

Not sure if i would pick the Korg D1 just for classical music but for the price i would rather have that than something really old , I really like the Korg D1 and use it for rock and pop music, i don't play classical at a high level yet so i just couldn't say for sure if it would work for you .
