His music seems very popular, and I don't see how his family's money could make other people like his music. But even if your comment is true, I find it mean spirited. Conscientious objections are welcome, but that's just your opinion, Ubu is right. And I clearly stated it as my opinion(with "I don't" and "I find"). But you just stated your opinion as if it was a fact.

The Einaudi camp thanks Pianoworldstage for creating a thread that has generated almost 1000 views. Encouraging people to hear the music for the first time and others to revisit the site. Every little bit helps.

Every little bit helps. Bullcrap, there is no Einaudi camp, no one listens to more than 10 minutes of his drivel before turning it off. At best he's the CD that's stuffed in the back and forgotten about. And to head off the sales argument, It doesn't matter how much garbage you sell. $1000 * 0 = 0. Garbage = garbage, and you've ripped off 100 idiots. The only thing accomplished through the ordeal is a lesson in why we shouldn't cultivate idiocy.

Take Yann Tiersen. He wasn't born with a silver spoon in his mouth; and yet he also became a very successful and popular composer. And I have a hard time telling Tiersen's and Einaudi's music apart. Then that evidently confirms you have no conservation for good music, It also demonstrates your inability to differentiate quality works from bad works. Yann Tiersen's music is emphatic, instilled with colourful complexity and that stands out as veritable. Einaudi's music is apathetic, insipid flavorless dull repetitive and disingenuous. To compare Yann Tierson to Einaudi is like comparing a Rolex to a Swatch, thus is an insult in itself.

Absolutely wrong. There is an Einaudi camp on these forums. As a pianist who is allegedly recording ambient piano music, it is surprisingly that you continue to insult them. Can’t be a great marketing strategy for your own music to call other pianists here tasteless and idiots.

Einaudi didn't "set off" anything. He's predated by George Winston, Michael Nyman and Philip Glass.
Who are all puppets of music, disingenuous of real talent. Michael Nyman wrote one decent score through out his whole musical carrier (The Piano) as of which his signature tune stands out "The Heart Aks pleasure" "credit due."

My grand piano is a Yamaha C2 SG. My other Yamaha is an XMAX 300.

Every little bit helps. Jeffcat, if you truly think that "there's no Einaudi camp," you're sorely mistaken. Although it's clear that nothing I or anyone else here can say will convince you otherwise. Pianoworldstage, you still haven't answered my question. Although I must say that your take on Einaudi really makes no sense to me if you (as you imply) like Yann Tiersen but not Einaudi, and recognize the merit in Nyman's music from the Piano. smh...

Letting bad music play, infusing bad music with softcore pornography, selling that to children. It all spirals downwards.
This all begins at the deviation from musical excellence, and the worship of mediocrity.
Einaudi isn't the lowest form of music, but he is one of snowflakes which set off the avalanche of musicians racing towards the bottom. He is the micro-tumor that starts the cancer, and Pop-music is the Metastasis.
In a free society, We agree everyone has the right to like what they like. But we ALSO agree that everyone has the right to judge one another for not aiming higher. You're not being serious, are you? You know, I neither like nor dislike Einaudi's music, I simply have no opinion, as I don't know his music well enough. Nevertheless, I find your post insulting. But well, maybe I'm a snowflake myself... :-)

I think this thread has more than achieved the requisite level of nastiness to justify its closure.
We’ve firmly established that musical tastes differ. Well done.
Thread closed.
