Actually I did not hear about the workshop of Nanette Stein and Striecher? Both Mozart and Beethoven really appreciated these pianos. Mozart wrote approvingly about Stein's forte pianos( the father of Nanette Stein) Striecher made pianos for Beethoven and yes he certainly approved of them.I am sure he was always asking for a bigger keyboard though.Beethoven was presented with a Broadwood just as Chopin was. Broadwood actually undertook to pay the traveling expenses of an ailing Chopin to London.
I have seen Mozarts piano in Vienna and yes it was a Walter.
But you never know perhaps he would have preferred a Stein.
