You know: I've noticed that the Nord's are all in stock and ready to ship everywhere. Hm....

It isn’t just digital pianos that are on back order.
I was recently told that sewing machines under $500 USD are pretty much sold out or have limited supply, and the model of refrigerator I wanted is unavailable until sometime in the new year.
Covid is affecting delivery of a lot of things.

Yep lots of items have been delayed because of Covid. I know several truck drivers that say the distributors warehouses are stocked but there isn't enough truck drivers to get things delivered to the stores like Home Depot.
All these years playing and I still consider myself a novice.

Freight from the West Coast (& to the West Coast) is a mess right now. This article in the Wall Street Journal says that there is a Covid-19 rebound influx of goods in West Coast ports right now on top of the usual Christmas shipments, & nobody can get rail freight to ship it out. Trucking is scarce too, & prices are rising. Another article I'd read elsewhere said the railroads were slow to recover from the spring & summer slowdown & are having trouble getting personnel & rail cars/locomotives to handle the volume from the West Coast. https://www.wsj.com/articles/west-c...e-seams-with-surging-imports-11599761927So maybe your dream piano is sitting in a box in a West Coast warehouse, waiting for a train or truck to get it to your retailer. I feel lucky I got my digital piano already, but FedEx wasn't exactly quick & efficient about it. I think they are overwhelmed/lack personnel too.

Curious if anyone has since received in their backordered digital piano, especailly asking for Roland brand. Mine has been back ordered until late Nov, and I'm curious if it'll actually take that long (from a late AUG order). Thanks!

In March I was told my Roland was in stock, so I purchased. Then they said it's actually at the docks, so it would take an extra week to deliver... After 3 months waiting they offered to give me a 35% discount on a Yamaha to replace it.
Right now even Yamaha are saying it's a 3 month wait - so I wouldn't be surprised that it takes 3 months.
The reason is that many of these pianos are assembled in Indonesia which is suffering from a really bad spike of coronavirus.

Curious if anyone is seeing product flow from the dealers, especially for Rolands LX line. Thanks!

I 've ordered a Roland HP 704 last week and it was on back order for November 30. Yesterday I received a notification that the expected delivery by the shop has been pushed back to December 21. Give another 10-15 days to ship with freight courier. These are the official estimations. Give another 10-15 days due to Christmas holidays etc. and I expect it to arrive mid January.

I'm about to move. The Yamaha dealer near my new home had no N1X when I visited in September. But I received an email yesterday saying that they have one and I could reserve it if I want to. I previously told them that I won't be buying until at least December ... because the move is going to consume me for quite some time. So I'll have to pass. When will they have another N1X available? I don't know. When will this seller's market end? I don't know. When will I be prepared to buy one? Not until the shortage ends. That's probably into Q2 next year ... at least.

And I'm looking forward to you getting your piano sometime in the hopefully not too distant future - and to you sharing your experiences with us. It's going to be the N1X then?

Yes, Mickey, it’s going to be the N1X, and don’t you even try convincing Mac otherwise!
He works hard for the money!

Yes, most likely an N1X. But I'm tempted to buy a Williams just to spite Pete. Yes, Mickey, it’s going to be the N1X, and don’t you even try convincing Mac otherwise! He works hard for the money!

MacMacMac : you may also hesitate between the Williams and the Kawai DG30. (Or a Yamaha CLP765GP).

Oddly, I've heard somethings of an inventory reduction sale at a few US dealers for Roland brand... would it be possible that the shortages are happening because they are about to release a new line?

For what it's worth one my local music stores is selling their Roland LX708-PW showroom unit.
The website still suggests that the model is available in various colors for now anyway.
The Roland importer's site (they also sell them along with other music gear) says "In stock" e.g. for the LX708-PE. But doesn't say how many.
Another music store says "Temporarily sold out" for e.g. Roland LX705 CH, Roland LX706 PE and "In the store" for Roland LX708 PW.
In Germany Kirstein has several Roland LX models available rightaway or available in Decembed...January. Musicstore shows varying availability for them and Thomann only lists the LX-705 PE and no other LX models at all.
I suppose that could be a hint of a new models coming(?) Starting with the flagship LX series(?)
Or maybe these mean nothing.

I have a fairly new MP11SE; got it a few months ago and decided that it's not my thing. If anyone is in the New England area (Northeast USA), I'm willing to sell it. Still have the box and everything.
