At 5:46 Montry does his trademark chromatic moving diminished chord soloing pattern. He plays a melodic 3rd in the lead of each diminished voicing. I know what he's doing and how he is moving (chromatically) , but I am not sure how many notes are in his moveable two handed diminished chord. He does it so fast that I suspect the left hand is playing only wo notes or possibly just one note to enable efficiency. I'm guessing it's two chord tones in the left hand while the melodic 3rd is played by the right hand each time.

An example spelled from the bottom up would be:

left hand plays A C (as a harmonic interval)
right hand plays Eb Gb (as melodic interval)

Just giving it a quick listen it sounds like those are 4 note diminished chords in each hand.

I thought so at first, but I think it's fewer notes than we imagine after listening in Transcribe! software with the highs and lows cut.

Interesting. I agree two notes in the LH. But what about the ascending (not descending) melodic third he plays in the RH after each chord voicing? I don't hear an octave in the RH

I think you are very close to it

I think it's

LH E' G' alone followed by RH Bb' G"

E diminished in drop 2, broken hands L R L R

Now I'm hearing it as this, which is far easier to play, simply minor 3rds played and octave apart one after the other (staggered, not at the same time). No extra notes. Now I get how he can do it so fast! It's not hard this way and my headphones with Transcribe at 10% revealed it to me.

LH E'G' followed by RH E"G"

I played similar stuff always in octaves -->

Monty does at 5:37, a couple of bars before the diminished pattern, also pure octaves alternating left and right hand. It's simply a better feeling playing these figures in octaves and also your piano sound got a better enforcement inside a latin band.
But of course this is up to you. Everybody got his own style.

I'm not so sure if he's playing 3 notes or 2 notes in the right hand harmony.

An example spelled from the bottom up would be:

Left hand plays A3 C4
Right hand plays Eb4 A4 C5 or maybe it's simply Eb4 C5 or even A4 C5?

It starts in bar 8 here:
