The second movement (Adagio) of Alessandro Marcello's Oboe Concerto in D minor, transcribed for keyboard by Bach.

BTW, most people who only know or play the Adagio don't realize that Bach transcribed the whole concerto as BWV 974, viz:

Ahh, and wouldn't you know, I have the score for this (the Adagio movement) in my folder of things to play in the future. smile

Yes! It's beyond moving. I was planning to play this piece "some time in the future" but I think I'll move it up to be the next on my list. I will always think of him when I hear it (and hopefully play it).
