Hi

I have a Casio COD 120 piano which I use for late night practice. It has one output socket which I use for my headphones. I have bought a quartz metronome which I want to use through the same headphones. Can anyone please advise.

Take care and keep safe

That'll be tricky. If you piano headphones are regular over the ear.

You can buy some very cheap earbuds(hooked up to metronome) and wear them under the headphones.

When you play, never mind who listens to you. R.Schumann.

Earbuds-under-headphones is a neat idea. Make sure the earbuds are open-back.

A more- expensive solution is to buy a small mixer (Behringer Xenyx 502 or 802, etc), feed the DP and metronome into it, and use its headphone output.

If the Casio has a " line in" jack, plug the metronome into that.

If you have a desktop PC that's close enough to your piano, you can output the piano to the line-in socket on the back of the computer case and use a software metronome.
You may need a wireless headphone or a long cable or stuff.

I believe it's possible with laptops as well.

The problem it, Guitar Tuna won't be silent during the night...

Playing the piano is learning to create, playfully and deeply seriously, our own music in the world.

If the piano has a line in connection you can plug your metronome into that . Failing that some smart watches will run metronome apps that vibrate rather than buzz.

If neither of these are any use, then a small mixer may be the best answer.

I'd be a far better pianist if I spent the time I'm on this forum playing my piano instead.

The CDP-120 has neither audio in nor a built-in metronome.

So, it's either earbuds inside headphones, a mixer or a new digital piano.

The new digital piano would probably have a built-in metronome, so the one bought separately would be unnecessary then.

Or something with a visual stimulus i.e. a blinking light.
