Awww, shucks...I was hard at work at it! I could get the beginning of different common tunes by interpreting the numbers in different ways (touch-tone frequency equivalents, scale step equivalents etc.), but hadn't yet hit on an approach that applied to all.

It was opus numbers of two similar and consecutive works of a composer.

Oh....I see...neat idea! I should have gotten the cue right off with the first one "1025." But other than that, I don't know Chopin opus numbers all that well. Heck, I don't even know Scriabin opus numbers that well, except for a handful of pivotal ones (or whichever one[s] I happen to be playing at any given time). My knowledge of music esoterica (and everything else) seems to melt away little by little every year...

(Reminds me of that scene in Love Story when Ali MacGraw is in the hospital and laments how she used to know all the Mozart K numbers or some such thing... I remember being young like that and being like a vacuum cleaner for knowledge. And then somewhere along the line, like the vacuum cleaner in "Spaceballs," I reversed direction! ha )

I don't know Scriabin's opus numbers real well either, even though I love him and have played a lot of him. The only ones I ever know 100% -- I mean, to the extent that I'd better my whatevers on ha -- are Op. 8 and Op. 42. Besides that, I 'think' the 9th Sonata is Op. 68 and that the 10th is Op. 70, and of course I could look it up to be sure, but that's not the point, which is that the opus numbers aren't second nature to me.

Chopin's opus numbers are, and so, if I see a phone number like xxx-4453 and I wonder about some easy way to remember it, I would immediately think of those 2 polonaises, and that would do it.
I don't blame you for not getting it from "1025," because of the kind of number that it is, i.e. a very common-looking thing, so it doesn't easily suggest anything but itself, even if we are prompted to wonder something about it.
