Hi everyone,
I'm actively looking to buy a second hand digital piano,
Would you please compare these three models (Roland FP80 vs FP90 vs RD800)?

Is it still a good idea to buy a FP80?
What's the difference between RD800 and FP90?

Thank you

Well, the most obvious differences are in the specifications.

They all have different key actions but all are Roland's higher range. The FP90 uses a different sound engine with fully modeled piano sounds. The RD800 has no speakers and possibly no option for a music rest.

Some have said the FP80 keys to be hard bottoming and loud, but I don't know if that's true. It has the oldest action design.

How much have you researched each model and is there something unclear?

I suppose experiences from owners of each model will be welcomed.

I have an FP80 and have played it for years in various places. The keyboard feels just fine, not hard. That’s a result of playing it for hundreds of hours.
I love it and have been very satisfied. A very good keyboard.

I have had two Rolands - one is HP-507 - it has a keyboard which is a step up from FP-80, and identical sound engine / max. polyphony to FP-80.
Other is FP-90 with sound modeling.
It is quite a significant difference between the two - my old HP-507 (consider it an improved FP-80) was less responsive and I was finally frustrated with playing anything advanced on it. Ended up buying an acoustic upright piano. Although the sampled sound itself was pretty nice.
FP-90 on the other hand has more satisfying feel / responsiveness, it is not acoustic, but it is a better practice instrument and a hobbyist piano.
FP-80 is closer to FP-30 than to FP-90.

I'd like to add my two cents here... I have a Roland FP-80 and a FP-7F also. The FP-90 is not sold here in Brazil, unfortunately, imported things are very expensive here now with the US dollar at R$ 5,40. But I had an opportunity to try a FP-90, and my impression was that its action was very good and had a more natural feeling that the one in the FP-80, and was less noisy too. But I didn't like its modeled sound.
