ShiroKuro, I think your analysis is correct on both points. I thought of buying a bike to ride as there’s not much else one can do nowadays, and I quickly thought of me falling off and breaking a finger or worse, get hit by a car. Haven’t been on a bike in 30 years.

Thank you! I bought a used one in the spring, it's quite fun! I just ride on side streets in my neighborhood, I find it a nice way to wind down.

It's strange, but it's true indeed. My father has broken his ankle badly last week working in the garden.

I have trigger finger in my left middle which can lock in the bent position. Three months ago I had had a very bad fall where my left wrist got bone damaged when it was trapped under my body as I fell on a stone floor. Because of Covid I did not go to emergency and have been waiting for it to heal but it looks like it won't by itself.
Anyhow be encouraged by this story of the damaged hand of the great Django Reinhard and I hope you make a similar recovery:

Lisa I'm praying for a speedy recovery for your finger. In a few months you will be playing away on the piano. And I know you are grateful that it wasn't worse. You take care of yourself!

Yes I've noticed more injuries too. My husband, a painter, fell off the ladder last week in a customer's bathroom and cracked a rib. And our next door neighbor's husband and 13 yr old daughter were in a serious pickup truck accident two weeks ago. They were both ejected from the vehicle and were life flighted to different hospitals with the husband going to Idaho and daughter to Montana. Mother stayed with daughter, my son drove to Idaho and stayed with husband and their 7 yr old son stayed with us. After a week they both came home. Husband with a now healing broken neck and staples in his head. Crashed C7 and two screws in C2. He had surgery. The daughter had concussion, broken nose and foot and dislocated and fractured hip. Her whole left side from face to toes had bad road rash and I don't know how many stitches she got. They were pulling a large closed trailer which had amount other things an upright piano that the daughter wanted to take lessons from me. They are both very fortunate to be alive. The truck rolled 4-5 times.

OMG, this is horrific!!!! I hope everyone recovers well, how awful!

Good news on my end. Last night before bed I changed my bandages and found that a LOT of healing occurred in the last 6 days. I might even be able to take a picture next week and not gross any of you out! Maybe....LOL.

I started back today on my regular 2 hour practice routine. It's going well, and I'm not in any pain, just a twinge every so often if I'm not careful. Other than that, I feel pretty good.

Thanks, everyone, for your stories and well wishes and encouragement. It's really meant a lot to me! ❤️❤️❤️

I'm at just over 4 weeks from my injury and took some pics when I changed the dressing today. I'm making the pics clickable so if you're a bit squeamish, don't do it, LOL. It does't look that bad anymore, though, I'm actually quite thrilled at where I am at this point! Now I'm thinking that I might be done with covering it by 6 weeks. smile

Thanks again for all the encouragement, everyone!

A bit late, but how tough for you Lisa, and I hope you will feel as good as you can while waiting for your finger to heal.

That was a quite a chunk of finger pad you lost. Glad to hear it’s getting better.

Just seen this thread. I do wish you a speedy recovery. I think you are lucky that it stayed clear of the nail. The main thing I can suggest is ... patience! And don't be hard on yourself.

Very best wishes.
