I am having to replace my baby grand (analogue piano) with something smaller due to downsizing.
I have been looking at the Yamaha Digital Grands. I used to have an upright keyboard which was fun as well the being a piano.
I can see they have just created the 809 and a new series of the top of the range CVP, but also have the CLPs, which are more of a pure piano at a much more affordable cost.
Comparisons are hard to find, but I have seen some that say the 809 is not much better in functions that the 709, and likewise the 709, noy much more than the 609.
I found a CVP609GP online in really good condition at about the same price as a ne CLP. The 809CVP is out of my league.
So I mess around and play for fun, could do with learning again, as 30 years ago, I played to a moderate standard. Would love to learn to be able to improvise and mess around with some better left hand than I do.
So the question is go for a 2014 Yamaha CVP609GP with all the frills, or a newer CLP with less frills???? (but a Bosendorfer voice!!)
One other question I did have was can you do a lot of the CVP stuff on the CLPs just with an ipad plugged in, and if so, then maybe its better to have a model 5 years newer with the ipad.
All recommendations and discussion eagerly awaited.
Thanks in advance.
