I’m looking to purchase my first digital piano, not having much space. CLP - 650 seems to be around 20 years old does anyone knows what it was worth back then??? Thanks 😊

Thanks 😊 The question is it worth today (sales wise), and in my eyes it would be roughly ZERO. If you can get its for 5 bucks take it (if functional). Otherwise you should look for something new(er). E.g. a new Yamaha P45 for 400 USD. Or a used Casio PX-100/110/150/160 if you want to spend less.

Would you buy a television that's 20 years old?

Would you buy a television that's 20 years old? My television is 25 years old; is there a problem with that?

25 years old... it must be a color TV... I see no problem.

Are you sure it is 20 years old, I bought a CLP 575 Clavinova from a dealer about 6 years ago new. I would have thought the 600 series is newer and now there is 700. I paid about 4,000 new. I don't use any features, just use it to practice with headphones on, when my husband is out I play the acoustic. I like it, sounds good with nose cancelling headphones.

For whatever reason, Yamaha's model numbering is not consistent.
In the market for a new digital piano ________________________________ Instruments at Home or Office | Pianos: Wurlitzer baby grand, Winter & Co. baby grand, Everett studio | Keyboards: Roland Fantom X7, Yamaha PSR-275 | Organ: Lowrey Prestige

25 years old... it must be a color TV... I see no problem. I have fond memories of childhood, watching hockey on my B&W TV with rabbit ears, perched on a wooden folding chair in my bedroom, and thinking it was the height of sophistication!! 😂😂😂 I wasn't intending to demean an old CLP, but you can honestly do MUCH better then purchasing a 31 year old digital piano. If you wouldn't buy a 31 year old television, you probably shouldn't buy an electronic instrument that age, either. The technology is wayyyyy outdated.

My TV has rabbit ears, and yes, I think this is highly sophisticated technology, still.
I go to sleep to static noise every night and it’s a beautifully profound thing to experience. Can your skinny TV do that? No!
It’s all digital and soulless, this so-called HD world we’re living in.
I’m sticking with my fat twenty-five-year-old TV and attached rabbit ears!

Clavinovas are so old that they reached the 9xx models a long time ago and started from small numbers again.

In 1996, the produce a 311, 411, 511, 611, 811, 911 series... just after the 15x series (no 2xx between) : in one series they go from 1xx to 9xx ! Then the numbering doesn’t really prove anything.
But it is true that the first Clavinova was in 1983, then Yamaha had some trouble with their numbering which doesn’t use a constant scheme.

Yamaha is doing what all of us should be doing these days: recycling.

No two different Clavinova has the same number, then there is no true recycling. It is not like Porsche which has reach quickly the 911 and now are sticked to this number.
But Yamaha makes a P121 acoustic piano and a P-121 portable digital piano. (The tiret is important !)
