The Blüthner E-Klavier is not exactly new to the market. In various models it has been available for a number of years now. I remember very dimly that I tested one in a shop about two years ago. I don't remember any details, but only that I was severely underwhelmed. A rather forgettable experience - so I promptly proceeded to do exactly that - and forgot about it (this thread now reminded me again).

Yes at least 5 years, and yes it's seriously underwhelming. It feels and sounds like something that should cost AT LEAST half of what it does, the build quality is nothing to get excited about... I actually don't know why they bothered.

I just love the Pianoteq version of Blüthner’s Model One. Sweet subdued sound and highly playable.

Grand Touch action: Where have I heard that before? I just can’t recall.

Left corner interface: I know I’ve seen that before, but where? My memory fails me.

.....but seriously, “Grand Touch”? I mean, the only difference is the ‘spacing’; I see a lawsuit in Bluthner’s future; unless they’ve partnered with Yamaha to use the GrandTouch branding/action (I doubt it).

That's too generic a name to cause legal problems with. I doubt the PTO would give a trademark in it. It's not fanciful or arbitrary (Apple for computers). It's merely descriptive (Eskimo Pie for ice cream bars). If they didn't use the mark in interstate commerce for 5 years before trying to register, no primary trademark.

Does this come in 25 pound versions??!?!?!!

Well, sir, in case you didn’t know, “Apple” was sued by GAGA (Global Apple Growers Association), but the lawsuit was settled out of court (Apple had to pay a lot of money to GAGA).

So yes, even something as generic as “apple” can be trademarked!

It's cool to have words "Made in Leipzig, Germany" on your digital. But I'm afraid this letters cost too much.

Well I'm not sure how many pounds this Blüthner weighs, but it looks pretty cool!

TexasBear - I was just going to ask if you had seen this, then it turns out you posted it!! Not sure why you're asking for opinions in the other thread about DPs that will be functional as well as look professional. You found it yourself!! grin
