Hello piano world, I bought the Yamaha P515 last October and have been enjoying my piano journey. I'm content with the instrument.

However, every few hours I will hear the "click" sound that accompanies the turning on/turning off sound when the keyboard is off. I've since removed the direct connection to the outlet and used an extension cord but I still hear that sound every few hours. My concern is that some sort of electrical issue is happening with this outlet.

For those of you who own this instrument or are familiar with digital pianos, have you ever faced this issue?

Not yet. (I had never even noticed that click, until you pointed it out!)

That is definitly not normal. I hear the click only when turning on the device.

Sounds like an intermittent power failure. Do you have a UPS you could hook the DP to, just to ensure that it is something internal to the P515?

Your outlets in the same room are likely all 1 wire hooked together in the wall. It makes no difference if you extension cord to another outlet.

Try a different floor. try the basement on an outlet closest to the fuse box, shortest run.

It sounds like it is on the same circuit as a periodic power user. I agree with @jeffcat - outlets in the same room / floor / side of the house or apartment. Intermittent users that cause a pop or disturbance in the supply are things like refrigerators which cycle on and off, AC units or electric heating, etc.

Just a guess - I'm not an electrician by any stretch.
