Since I never use the contemporary mic positions, I would like to delete them to free up some disk space, if possible.

Anyone know if this is possible, and how? I can't find any obvious "contemporary" maps, or anything like that. Well, I can find a couple of maps that say contemporary, but they don't contain any sample data.

All sample data seems to be in a map called "data" which contains seperate maps that are called "0" "9" "v" "x" "y" and "z".

Anyone have experience with this?

The Y is for contemporary and Z is for player, the numbered folders are for notation presets. My Garritan only has X, which is Classic. smile

At least on the Mac version, you can delete data without issue. The player doesn't crash when it tries to load or play it, it just loads/plays nothing. So pretty much ideal imo. You can make a copy of the data directories for backup, and delete the ones you don't need until you're all set.

Well, that means you could delete the "y" and "z" folders which you can find in the "data" folder, and it will surely give you a nice mount of space.

The "x" folder is your classic position, so don't delete that.

If you are using Windows, go to your CFX installing directory and find Data, and then select the CFX_Samples folder. Once there, delete everything but the X folder, in other words, keep the X folder. You should be alright in only having the classic _ full samples! That's what I did. My thread about this is a few posts up, you should take a look at it and see that this worked out successful for me!
Sorry, I don't know about MAC, so can't help you if you are using that. smile Hope this helps!
In the folder, X for classic, Y for contemporary, and Z for player.

It's a shame, though, isn't it?
They work hard to produce all those sample GBs.
And you pay for all those GBs.
And then you delete 'em. Sad. frown

Especially Garritan. I don't know a lot of people who use Contemporary, or a lot who use Player perspectives. Or the compact libraries. Mostly, we want the full Classic perspective with the ambient mics; in other words, everything the Lite version offers, only with the addition of the ambient mics for the realistic reverb smile

So I guess you could say Garritan was smart in how they separated Lite from Full...

The backbone of modern industrial society is, and for the foreseeable future will be, the use of electrical Power.

I use the player mics mostly as well. I like both the player and the classic mics. A mix of these sound good as well, but that means loading 2 instances of the program, which gives some problems on my pc that's a bit old.
