This is a truly excellent tour explaining the dimensions and materials’s properties in 1848Pleyel just like the piano in Chopin‘s apartment when he passed away. Scroll down the page and find Sam Hogwood’s playing the exact piano from Chopin’s Apartment. Width of an octave was closer to a seventh!

Wonderful! Thanks so much
Now to just win the lottery and buy a Pleyel 😺

The sustain seems really short on that piano. No capo bar, lower tension must play a significant factor in that.

What do snowflakes and Chickerings have in common? There are no two exactly alike!

How well tuned was the piano for Fialkowska's performance? I didn't like the sound much but it could be my speakers, the lack of tuning, or the natural sound of the piano.

Interesting youtube comment from Massimilano di Mario ("acortot" on these forums):

I had no expectations that the 1848 Pleyel’s Tone would be comparable and as satisfying as a modern grand. But what do you think about the width of the keys— An octave being closer to seventh on a modern ground...!? And the key depth— Can you imagine that would facilitate flying faster across the keyboard?

This sounds a bit like Steingraeber's Mozart rail.

Post moved to new thread - I thought this seems more appropriate.
