Whether this is a silly instrument, or a serious one, I am not really clear about, but currently the "AIR Music Mini Grand" is available for 4 EUR:

Mini Grand

Roland FP-30, Roland E-28
Pianoteq 6.7.3 (Blüthner, Bechstein DG, Grotrian, Steinway D, K2), Garritan CFX Lite, Production Voices Estate Grand

I got the Mini Grand a few days ago, mostly because I want to try out Pro Tools | First, and I know I can't open any of my existing virtual instruments in it, LOL!

This is obviously not a deeply sampled piano VST, only about a gigabyte in size, but for €4, who cares?

Be aware that you need a DAW to run Air Mini Grand, Reaper, Ableton Live, Pro Tools (not First), Cubase, Logic Pro, whatever. This VSTi has no standalone player.

Monastery Grand is free and has very good sound, but as you might expect from a free product, it has limited pedal functionality (no continuous half-pedaling, re-pedaling, no sustenuto pedal, no soft pedal).
It runs in Melda MSoundFactory which is available as AAX plugin, and should work with Pro Tools.

By the way, it looks there is way to use VST plugins inside Pro Tools First:

Got it running with Waveform. Sounds good, latency is good. Not as good as Garritan CFX or Pianoteq but a solid (cheap) Alternative.

VladK, didn't see any video in that link, though the video is still on YouTube.

Don't think I like this spaghetti solution, though. cool It's not that important for me to get non-Avid plugins to work in PT First, just want to test the DAW briefly.

I already have Reaper, and Ableton Live Lite 10 (which by the way hosts external plugins, and though it is limited as a sort of free software, it's not nearly as crippled as Pro Tools First).

Good find, though I'm not much into felt pianos. Westwood's Alt Piano, of which this felt upright is a subset, is probably a nice virtual piano, especially for those who are into sound design.
