I bought a Steinberg E-licenser. But, it seems rather filmsy.

The metal part which you stick in a usb-port can move a bit up and down in it's case. If you shake it you can hear it rattling. It seems the case is not fully closed properly. If you look from the side you can see a tiny gap between the 2 halfs of the case towards the metal part. If I apply some pressure to push it more closed, the metal part can move up and down less, but still some.

Could anyone with an E-licenser tell me if this is normal?

Since i bought it to try vsl libaries, and potentially buy, and their policy seems pretty customer unfriendly when you have a problem with your e-licenser, I don't want to risk using a bad E-licenser.

It does work, it get's recognised as an E-licenser like it should.

My e-licenser is solid. I treat it with kid gloves regardless.

I'm not sure how the key's plastic 2-piece shell is held together. It seems to have some internal push pins that would lock in with mechanical pressure. But there might be some glue (also).

If you tried squeezing the plastic together and it didn't snap into place just RMA the key. You don't want a key failing out of the gate or the hassle of transferring licenses IMHO.
