So tonight I was playing the Vintage D mixed with the piano's native guitar sound. And suddenly one of the two sounds went way off pitch.
The mix didn't just sound like an out-of-tune piano (as in honky tonk). It sounded far stranger than that. I've never heard such a thing before.

I dug out my old Korg tuner, played A-440 on the piano native mode ... and it read as a solid A-440.

I then silenced the piano and turned on the Kontakt instruments. On every one of the instruments the middle A read about a quarter tone below Ab ... or about 3/4 of a tone flat.

How can that happen?

I shut down Kontakt and restarted it ... and the problem disappeared. But that left me wondering: What kind of software fault can cause this????

I don't think this is fault. Most likely you accidentally moved the pitch slider in Kontakt (see the slider on the left of the Kontakt keyboard) - it applies to all instruments loaded, or something similar somewhere else.

The left most slider is sitting at the halfway up position. If I move it up or down it immediately returns to the center position.

The next slider is sitting at the bottom position. If I move it up it stays there ... but it has no effect on pitch.

The pitchebend wheel has to be dragged and held (by mouse) to be applied. This is probabbly not what you experienced.

I've changed the title to this thread. I'll leave it to readers to consider how they might feel if they were disabled and had spent a lifetime being called a "spaz".

This isn't "political correctness", it's basic human decency.

Please think before you post.
