I have a Kawai ES7. I like the sound, but the mechanical noise of the keys bouncing off their return bump stops is irritating. What are the pros and cons here? Is there some advantage in a perhaps faster return that only a more advanced player would appreciate (and be willing to put up with the noise for)? I have noticed (in professional youtube videos, e.g. Lola Astonova playing We are the Champions, and Rhapsody in Blue) that some Steinway actions have bouncy keys and other Steinways don't, so this is clearly a design decision - but why? Does the Kawai Grand Feel have similarly bouncy keys? Roland FP90?
