Hello,
I'm wanting to order heavy brown quilted mackintosh cover for my Steinway O. There are several companies online and I'm wondering if anyone can recommend a good quality one that fits well? There is American Piano Covers in N.J. and there's also American Piano Covers .com. Does anyone know about these? I would greatly appreciate any information, advice or suggestions! Thank you!
Scott

Just make sure to get one specific to that model piano, instead of a generic 5'10" size, for best fit.
I ordered mine from vandaking.com, but it's worth noting that this forum's owner also sells them, here:

I'm sure they're being sourced more or less from the same few places at the end of the day.

Hi Scottfree, and welcome to Piano World!

When I first saw the title of your thread, I thought you meant what "Cover song" recommendations. smile

Of course when I read your thread, I see you are interested in recommendation for quilted piano covers for your Steinway O.

And, it sounds like you've done your homework already. Sounds to me like any of the companies you mentioned would be good to go...

Wish I could be of more assistance, but I've never purchased a piano cover. I just let the dust cover them, and dust the piano on occasion. smile

Oh yea, I have recorded a few "cover" songs on the piano, but I really like to write my own. :-)

Good luck!

Hello Scott,

The mackintosh cover is a light duty, fitted cover, not a heavy-duty quilted cover. The mackintosh is a heavy exterior fabric with a soft lining, but no quilting. It also has practice slits in the side.

Which type are you interested in? Jansen makes a very good mackintosh cover for many piano stores, technicians and web vendors. The O is a standard size for them.

Jansen's heavy-duty, quilted covers are good quality and a fair price, but not as well-fit. Then there is also the choice of nylon, cotton, or other materials.

The very best custom covers (quilted, fit, and other options) I know of come from a small shop in Oregon. They cost more, but they are a cut above.

Hello Everyone,
Thank you for your replies! I have been in contact with both American Piano Covers .com (Covers by Alicia) in Oregon and American Piano Covers in N.J. So I guess either one will be fine, I just want a good fit. And they do offer heavy quilted mackintosh.
