Also do not use material that is new with a strong colour.You could end up with unusual hammers with stripes on them 😐( Zebra style ) πŸ€”

The problems were the room not the piano. The piano was near a corner, the hardwood floors ,no curtains, not enough upholstery in the room. There were echoes as the sound bounced off a number of hard surfaces. I could not really hear what I was playing.
The texture of the music is what I am talking of.

Of course if you have a piano that is in a totally unsuitable room then changing the room acoustics is what you should do. Why did you even put it in that room?
