Hi everyone.
I don't think I can get the score, but can anyone guess the level of this song? (Just the intro... the first 20 seconds).
I wish I could play it in a few years...

Song:

Thanks.

PS: great song, by the way.

Hi Danicast
I can’t guess the level, and could not find a score. I would guess it will take you more than two years, but if you want to eventually play it, GO FOR IT! Build up your skills until you get there 😊

"Music, rich, full of feeling, not soulless, is like a crystal on which the sun falls and brings forth from it a whole rainbow" - F. Chopin
"I never dreamt with my own two hands I could touch the sky" - Sappho

It's ok to be a Work In Progress

Hi Danicast

For me it would depend on the key it's in. If it's in a good key (say G) then I'd call it intermediate.

I had a quick muck about on the Piano and my ear (which isn't always good) tells me it's in E. The opening chords are E then B then Db (or C#). I think the main difficulty is the rhythm.

It has a gospel influence and is the sort of thing you might have heard Richard Tee play (strong left hand). But it's a little early for him so I looked up the album it's from (Pilgrim's Progress) and it's actually Larry Knechtel, who played the Piano for Bridge Over Trouble Water and many other sessions.

Cheers

Sorry I missed out little m!
The 3rd chord is Dbm (or C#m).

Cheers

Honestly, I am not familiar with the tradition of teaching this style on the piano in US , however, it practically turns out that the basis is the transfer of drum set rhythm to the keyboard with a combination of bass riffing and rhythm guitar in the form of broken chords .
For a drummer who is familiar with the style and also play the piano, it can take few days till week to learn by ear the intro .

Thanks!
Yes, it is that Larry Knechtel, I think he played for Phil Spector and Elvis...
I'm gonna have to practice a lot.
