Hi all,

Turned on my Kawai MP7se this afternoon and soon after got only low and high crackling sounds out of my speakers and sadly no sound nomatter what keys I press. Consulted the manual and took al advised steps to see if that would fix the problem, but no success. Also did a factory reset, but that didn't help either. Also did a search on the forum, but could not find anything on this particular problem. The latest software update v. 1.04 went ok. I only have the MP7SE a couple of months and before never had any problem. The midi function works ok with Pianoteq, but no Kawai sounds at all.

Allready contacted my dealer, but no response yet. The unit is still under warranty, so that's a relief.

Anyone experienced this problem before or has some suggestions what to try next?

I use a Steinberg Audio Interface with KRK Rokit 5 amplified speakers and a KRK sub.

Thanks in advance.

Osiris

How about sound with headphones? Does that work?

Also, there is a switch in the headphone jack that, depending on the settings might turn the output jacks off. Try jiggling.

I did also try the headphone output, but have the same crackling sound and at every sound I choose (be it piano, e.piano, organ, etc.) there's that same annoying sound.
Looks like the Output circuit is defect.

Hello Osiris,

I'm sorry to read that your MP7SE is not producing any sound.

Assuming that have checked the obvious things (Master Volume and Zone faders are not set to minimum, Expression pedal is disconnected), I'm afraid it's possible that the main CPU board has developed a fault.

Given that the instrument is still under warranty, it should be a relatively straightforward process for the dealer to resolve this issue. However, if you require any assistance, please feel free to send me a PM.

Kind regards,
James
