It's Fun to Play the Piano ... Please Pass It On!
Thanks for posting. I see John Debney wrote the underscore. Big fan here. Must check it out.
Yes , and sort of like a Bach style accompaniment in the bass, but I wonder, if maybe ...if this is more a piece for a female to play...if there is such a piece? But ...I'm macho .I'm building my motorized bicycle! lol
Yes it is Evanescence and I think i could play it as i found the score on Muse and it's not difficult, I'll delete some repetitive and step record the cello afterward if I get it right by Aug 14th.
This is the first time I've heard it, but I can see why you'd want to play it. Hearing it makes me miss my violin and cello friends. We played a few pieces that are written as piano and vocals, and were planning on working on a new one, and then covid....
Anyway, I hope you record it!

Reallly? It was just a guess. She has a beautiful voice. I searched the internet and couldn’t find any info on the singer at all. Not on the soundtrack site either.
I googled (bc I'm curious about what movie it is!) and found that it's written by Amy Lee, if you google "lyrics meaning" or something you may find interesting details.

The Movie is "Stonehearst Asylum" , based very loosely on a Edgar Allen Poe short story. The movie was impressive IMO because of the strong plot and classic cinematic shots that you'd have watched maybe in the early 1900's . - ie "Invisible Man" in black and white. As far as Amy Lee , she really does have quite a voice that is strong when needed without shrillness. I like her singing too. I didn't take any further meaning from the lyrics other than the movie plot, they seemed to fit well (ie regression and the like). The name of the piece is "Hello" by Evanescence on Musescore. The piece is written for a piano, voice and cello.
Although I find quick finger work on the piano to be a "WOW" ....I [think] I like slower pieces for the emotional aspect.
-Besides I'd like to grow my mustache back ....Don wire rims and a tailcoat and play this on my grand. LOL [I'd never do that] And I'd have to wear a wig!!!..Thinned out with age.

Thanks for that explanation! I'll see if I can find it.
Good luck with "Hello," I look forward to hearing you play it!

Side note: I originally thought the piece was written for the movie. It's meaning however is someone's personal story that is very delicate and sad. I think it more appropriate to leave it to the artist-- -Just my feelings - anyway.

Guess I have a double apology here; this piece was not in the movie, I assumed it was because of the youtube vid. LOL wow super foolish
No apologies needed! I couldn't figure out what movie it was, but apparently that's because the movie was renamed??
Anyway, I think if you want to play it, you should play it. If the band didn't want other people to play it, I don't think they would allow the score to be sold on Musicnotes.com. (And musicnotes.com is not going to sell a score without permission so...)

Thanks for understanding,... I was surprised it wasn't a movie soundtrack- so I was "pushed back" against playing this emotional song. And it is on musicnotes.com, so if I can get it played well , I may do that. I really like the melody and emotive quality of the piece
