After 3 years as a beginner giving the Kawai ES 110 a religious 3- 5 hr a day workout , I want to get an acoustic upright. Very use to action of the Kawai ES110.

Does anyone know if there is a Kawai upright acoustic piano with action that closely resembles my Kawai ES 110?-I set it on heavy
Or is those no relationship? Just thinking since I’m use to Kawai Digital I might be more comfortable w a Kawai?

Thanks. I’m a semi retired guitarist (63YrS) so new to piano but love it enough to sell 3 of my guitars.

The Kawai acoustic K series have very good light actions. Don't know if it would compare, but certainly for an upright acoustic, as good as they get. Imo . .

Sorry this isn't really an answer to your question but generally you'll get use to whatever piano you buy, after awhile. And actions can be adjusted to suit your taste

And even though the ES110 is known for its light action, you're on the heavy side of it 'cause you set the touch to heavy. For me that feels super heavy, I have it set to light touch. So I'd imagine that you'd be able to accomodate the action on most uprights. And keep in mind there's a difference between the action of an upright and a grand, the ES110 seeks to emulate the action on a grand.

I have little experience with uprights except for an exceptional Yamaha upright that really surprised me. Usually I hear the sound of an upright as a big compromise in open, spacious sound quality compared to a grand piano, but this Yamaha, don't know the model name, sounded clear and beautiful, the best sounding upright I'd ever played on. With that in mind there's also what you're used to hearing, and after 3 years with the ES110 you may like the sound of a Kawai upright.

So it appears you don't need silent practicing thru headphones anymore!

Am still waiting for a further installment of your in-depth review of the ES-110!

Randyman..very enlightening..Thanks... for 3 years, once a week I took private lessons on my teachers K Kawai grand and I have very little adjustment problem—that explains it.
thanks.. my in depth review of 110 is somewhere on this forum.
And yes I’ll be still using the digital w headphones...(wife mandated) have it on one side of music room and I’ll put the acoustic on other -inside wall-read on this forum not to put by window.
Thanks again

No. I think you should spend some time playing in stores and find out what you like most and can afford. I noticed there are huge differences among Yamaha AU actions alone, not to mention the sound. I liked one used U1 a lot, and the key action seemed closed to Kawai slab DP actions than Yamaha P/CLP actions (but I was looking for a slab DP, already had an AU). No idea how much this depends on acoustic action regulation. Can't say much for Kawai AUs, they only had a couple of entry model on display which I didn't like.
