I'm trying to do some reasonable recordings and possible live streams. TS5 CM60 Framkenmic UHER M538 AKG D202 AKG D224 [video:youtube]SFSYXmcPasw[/video]
is a test of five microphones. Which is best?

Many thanks

Best wishes

David P

I never heard about the first one dispite owning a semi-pro studio and surfing audio forums for years

The AKG are fairly old mics dinamic mics, they can be used on pretty much anything.

The CM60 is perhaps a Egleton? It is a quite cheap condeser mic.

The UHER is an old dynamic and I think it does have non standard connection (DIN).

I would use the 2 AKGs in a stereo setting, or one AKG and the UHER in stereo setting.

You can put the AKG very close to the strings, and the UHER a bit far away over the piano for a room sound.

Or if you wanna stay very simple use just one mic.
IMO the AKGs are much better mics, but if you can try them all just choose what sound right to you.
