A wonderful performance of Chopin's piano sonata #3. Can't believe she's 79. I once met Shura Cherkassky in the green room and started to talk about Martha. He grabbed my hand and his eyes widened, "She greater than all of us."

That was kind of weird... like was this a covid 19 concert or something with no audience?

Wonderful to see Martha Argerich perform solo - as somebody 60 years her junior, she's given few recitals in my lifetime. Of course, I was excited to see she'd played this - it makes you wonder what else she could surprise us with! A work she hasn't performed for over 20 years played so beautifully, musically and vibrantly; certainly, she is the greatest.

Brilliant. I've been following Argerich since she won the Chopin competition in Warsaw in 1965. She is an incredible talent...maybe the best living pianist. What always has fascinated me is the economy of her playing. There are no big, dramatic gestures, no visible emoting. She doesn't even appear to exert herself all that much. And yet she consistently produces such musical interpretations with technique to spare. She's very exciting to watch, all the more so because she's so calm at the keyboard.

She's a very charismatic pianist to see, I agree - the apparent ease with which she performs even the most complex works is remarkable.
