A Steinway Grand from PianoCraft in the middle of its move into its new home. Oh, another piano had to come out the same way!

My money is on that being a fairly long grand...

Also, seeing that in person would give me a heart attack.

I wonder if the moving costs exceeded the cost of the piano? eek I know crane rentals are not cheap.

Well, that's probably safer than having your Bosie delivered by truck by these folks ...

Bosie delivery disaster

I've read this article before but reading it again having picked up on who the piano removal firm was, G&R Removals, these were the same people that delivered my NU1X when I bought in new last year.

I can honestly say their service was absolutely appalling so perhaps no surprise it was them that let that poor Bosie fall to its death! I've had many pianos moved in my time by various different removal companies and I would never use G&R again. The sad thing is that the dealer I bought my piano from was absolutely fantastic but he outsourced all his deliveries to them which unfortunately really let down the entire buying process.

Thanks, j&j. FWIW, it’s always pretty easy to play off someone else’s good jokes. I appreciate Keith’s self-effacing humor, and P*D’s clever pun! thumb

I always joke that you can find anything with a good search engine, but even I was kind of surprised that “Wile E. Coyote piano” turned up something relevant.

It’s nice to know that Wile E. Coyote can still make people laugh on a Saturday morning! After all, that’s where I first discovered him. wink

My dad loved Wile E. Coyote! As a kid, I just saw him as a hapless stooge, always bested and taunted by the Road Runner (beep beep). That was true on the surface, of course, and it it wasn’t until many years later that I recognized the play on words that his name represents, or his tenacity and zany ingenuity. Or the Road Runners endless good fortune. We lived in Southern California at the time, and everybody was trying something. And my dad was a jet pilot, so I’m sure Wile E’s ubiquitous jets and rockets struck a chord in him.

Funny, tomorrow being Father’s Day... I’m probably going on two decades older than my dad was then. And he’s been gone for seven years now. It’s odd to reminisce about him watching cartoons with us on a Saturday morning. In retrospect, he was practically just a kid himself.

Life goes on—relentlessly—but it’s nice to laugh, isn’t it?

I’ve been living in the Southwest for 47 years. I loved the Roadrunner & Coyote cartoons and have had Roadrunners scout my backyard for lizards, bird eggs and baby quail. The coyotes enjoy baby bunnies, mice, garbage and stealing dog food. Unfortunately they might just also enjoy a stray small cat or chihuahua. Both roadrunners and coyotes live by their wits so naturally they’re smart, especially the coyotes. Considering they now can be found nearly everywhere and thrive in spite of coyote hunting makes me realize that Wile E Coyote’s zany Acme creations really does ring true.

Today’s a great day remembering the fun times we had with our Dads!
Thank you!

What is a Roadrunner ? Is it an animal of some sort that runs around dusty roads ?
We have coyotes that come down into the creek near us.(actually bears as well sometimes) I remember the Roadrunner cartoons. I have always wondered if they are some type of animal ?
