If you own an older Yamaha Clavinova, I can HIGHLY recommend having the upper and lower key felts replaced, and lubricating the keys while you’re at it. I finally had the missing grease show up in the mail, and I performed the procedures myself on my CVP-107. It took several hours, but the results are night and day!! I hadn’t really realized how noisy the keys had become, but the difference is astounding. It is well worth the time and effort!

Detailed instructions can be found in the posts and the two YouTube videos in this thread:

https://forum.pianoworld.com/ubbthre...oard-grease-lube-points.html#Post2952187

I was going to post directly in that thread, but I thought the thread title was too specific to only one model, and I think all Clavinova owners could benefit from this information.

Peter, see the 4th post in that thread I linked, it gives all the ordering instructions:

Now you’ve done it. You’ve probably heard this story or a variation on it:

“Mozart’s father would go to the piano in the morning and begin playing a piece of music to wake his son up. However, Leopold would not play the whole piece through; thus leaving the piece unresolved. Mozart would hear this and run downstairs to play the final chord. Today, this is jokingly referred to as ‘Mozart’s Alarm Clock’.”

For those of us tortured like Mozart who now have to hear the whole song, (and I figured I might as well find someone playing a Yamaha):
