Hello everyone,

I’m thinking about buying a used upright for my daughter and me. I grew up playing a Baldwin, and have always been partial to them. I don’t know if it is typical of Baldwin’s, but it seemed to have a very warm sound, compared to the limited number of other pianos I’ve played.
I have a decent digital Yamaha now, but I’d like my daughter to learn on the real thing.

Id like to spend somewhere between 1500-2000. There are some 1998-1999 Baldwin’s on Craigslist in that range (I’ve read about the risks).

Is that a reasonable amount to pay?
Is there another manufacturer to consider?

Thank you
Ridley

Welcome to the forums!

You should better post this on the main Piano Forum.
This is the FAQ subforum.
