Hi, you don't have to memorize the pieces. On the first page of this thread you can find a couple of articles where you can learn about "40 Pieces Challenge". Here is another blog post that you may find useful.

"Hymn to the Sea" from Titanic is close to done, just struggling with a couple of measures and a bit more work needed on pedalling some parts. Going to have a break this coming week and work on another more challenging piece alongside polishing Titanic before returning back to Grade 1 pieces next month. Mid way through the year and 19/40 pieces, so on track

I plan to get a good recording of "Hymn to the Sea" although it'll have to wait until the piano has been tuned.
