I’ve just tried loading some random level 2 method lessons and they all loaded fine.

Is there any in particular that are a problem?

They load fine for me.

'This Old Man' and 'Twinkle Twinkle Little Star'.

I've checked them as well and they load. Report it to PM. They will check it out. I experience sometimes that some pieces from Library don't load and after some time (no longer than day) they load fine again. It could be that they do something there. Restarting app helps sometimes too.

The problem is cured by clearing the Piano Marvel plug in cache.

just checking in folks. I haven't posted in a while, but have been practicing nearly daily and am nearly finished with level 3. I say that because I had a long streak in the works and I overslept and missed a day.

I am continuing to work/improve with the same pieces for the last two months as I continue to wait for delivery to start on the midi controller I ordered. My limitation is the number of keys on my toy piano and on my chord organ(37 on each). Seems I need more keys to start on level 4 so I would be able to do 2 octave scales with both hands.

I chose the Arturia keystep essential 88 because I want a variety of knobs, faders, timbres, and a pitch wheel for my originals. It also saves on the budget so I can afford Pianoteq sooner. If it takes another month for the midi controller to ship, I will likely "settle" for something superior that has a weighted hammer action(hopefully in stock.) :P

I finished book 1 of "The perfect start for note reading" yesterday, it was very enjoyable and I liked that I got to learn new chords along with using more higher notes. I'm going to start level 2 soon. I've just now finished Lavender's blue (3-A) with gold, it's essentially Hey diddle diddle which is cute. Moving onwards!

Lavender's blue was the first song that gave me the feeling of "hey I play the piano". A very nice feeling. I didn't know the song and really liked it. "Perfect start" are good books, you learn to play out of the box.

Question for the PianoMarvel users. How much do you spend on the extra books/material? By Brother-In-Law asked me about it as I suggested PianoMarvel for his daughter. Both parents are working from home and their daughter was interested in piano. I steered them to check it out but I don't have first hand knowledge of these online courses/apps.

Thanks in advance.

I have been using PM for about 2 months. Working through both Method and Technique. I just recently starting doing the classical bootcamp. It is pretty good. I also played around with the Alfred Adult Method book. It is pretty much exactly like the book, but it has the PM assessment. Definitely worth using.

I haven't bought any extra materials, I pay the monthly fee and get access to tons of different stuff. I tried Alfreds but realized my 77 key isn't compatible with it, I can't get as low as the lessons want unless I map the keys, I don't really want to mess with those.

I have played around with Disney songs, Christmas songs, and failed at some others. I don't feel confident enough yet to purchase sheet music as PM checks my mistakes/tempo, and I can't correct that on my own yet.

I got the same feeling with Lavender's Blue as well! Finally a song I wouldn't feel too embarrassed to show others, since it doesn't sound basic and too 'easy'.

You only need a piano, midi connection and a PC or iPad or laptop. The books in Piano Marvel can all be downloaded as PDF. The only real cost is an annual or monthly subscription to Piano Marvel. If they still have to buy a piano, best one with 88 keys.

The one thing that I'm confused about on the iPad version is the 'Print' button. Every time I click on it, a message pops up saying 'Due to copyright restrictions ......'.

This message even comes up on scales and I doubt that there is a copyright on them.

I’m not sure why this button is even there.
