Hey guys. The A key on the left side of middle C won't really work at all. It kinda works when I slam it down with my finger. Is there any explanation why?

Cheap DPs sometimes just have issues. It's hard to do something about it. Are there settings dictating the velocity curve per key?

Finally bought the P515

If a key does not work like every other key, then it is defective.

Casio provides a warranty. You should probably make use of it.

We can only guess. Could be the (dual) rubber dome switch that's under every key and on top of the key scanner PCB.

In old digital pianos they can even deteriorate and lose the conducting surface on the rubbery part that's supposed to short the circuit on the PCB.

Apparently sometimes there can also just be some dirt between the sensor and the PCB.

If it's under warranty, it's Casio's problem. Otherwise you can pay for someone to open it up and "do stuff" or you can take a look at it yourself.

This is what the action looks like: https://youtu.be/EqNK3w-2C6I?t=332

Interesting note: Yamaha warranty does not cover dirt on the contacts. (Ask me how I know.)
