I want to buy a new digital piano without all the wood so that I can put in my car for travel when working away, I only have a 61 midi keyboard with 30w studio speakers but its not that good and I want to upgrade to a 88key, I am open to it having onboard sounds but I also have a good laptop so vst is an option . I don't mind spending up to £4000 on one, but most of all I want something that feels and sounds like a piano. So does anyone know what my best options are ?

There are an awful lot of options starting from "entry level" portable pianos and controller keyboards and going all the way to fancy stage pianos like the Kawai MP11SE and Nord Grand.

Have you thought what would be the max dimensions and weight?

You of course don't need to go to anything crazy expensive to improve from what you have now.

A Kawai ES110 could be a pretty good affordable portable piano. Then there are the often mentioned Kawai ES8, Yamaha P-515 and Roland FP90. Studiologic has a few controller keyboards. Roland too. And some peoples' solution to all the world's problems seems to be the Kawai VPC1 and a VST. But it ain't small.

Some limiting factors would help.
